Food Diary

Trying to “diet” (read: cleaner eating and exercise) is a constant battle between the shoulds, really-shouldn’ts, and the I’m-going-to-regret-this-in-the-morning-but-it-tastes-so-good-right-now-so-screw-it.

You start developing a relationship with food, a better understanding of it and a long-term commitment to being a better body -I mean person- because of it. But the more you’re supposed to go for the protein-packing good guys, the more you end up day-dreaming about and night-creeping with the bad boys, and giving in to the temptations of those covered in chocolate or grease. You make excuses, you cheat, then you come [insert chosen form of exercise] back to the shakes, salads and tuna promising you’re going to do it right this time, from today, you swear this time it’s different, this time you’re serious. I even packed my gym clothes!
